Most of the kitchens we’re called into across Westchester share the same handful of problems. Older colonials, Tudors and split-levels in towns like Scarsdale, Bronxville and Rye were built for a different era of cooking, while condos and co-ops in White Plains and Yonkers often have tight footprints with little room to work. Common complaints include (and they’re exactly what we solved in our recent White Plains kitchen remodel):
A well-planned remodel solves all of these at once. It also adds real value to your home, which matters in a market as competitive as Westchester’s. If you’re not sure whether you need a full remodel or a lighter refresh, book a free consultation and we’ll walk you through both options honestly.
We handle every phase of the project in-house or with long-standing trade partners, so you have one point of contact and one accountable team.
Good kitchens start with a good plan. As founder Pedro Ormeno puts it, “Function always comes first.” In one White Plains kitchen, simply repositioning the appliances into a better work triangle and lowering the microwave turned a cramped room into one the whole family can cook in. We measure your space, talk through how you cook and live, and recommend the layout that fits best:
Cabinets are the single biggest line item in most kitchen remodels, and they’re where our in-house carpentry makes the biggest difference. Our carpenters build and install custom cabinets, floor-to-ceiling storage, pantry pull-outs, appliance garages, wine racks and built-in banquettes sized to your exact space—not a catalog’s standard dimensions. Because we’re not paying a cabinet subcontractor’s markup, you get more custom work for the same budget. And we’ll tell you honestly when cabinets are worth saving—in our affordable Yonkers kitchen remodel, the old boxes were too far gone to repaint, so replacing them was the smarter long-term spend. The same craftsmanship goes into our custom closets and storage solutions throughout the home.
We install quartz, granite, marble, butcher block and solid-surface countertops, plus tile and stone backsplashes. Popular upgrades include farmhouse and undermount sinks, pot fillers, and waterfall island edges.
Tear-out is where many remodels get messy and delayed. Our own crew handles demolition and debris removal, protects the rest of your home with dust barriers, and keeps the site clean every day. Careful demolition also protects what’s worth saving, like the original hardwood we uncovered in White Plains. We also provide demolition and renovation prep in Fairfield County, CT.
We coordinate tile, luxury vinyl and hardwood flooring, and we always check what’s underneath first. In a pre-war Colonial in White Plains’ Highlands neighborhood, we pulled up decades of linoleum and found original quarter-sawn white oak hiding under the old kitchen floor. Instead of covering it, we sanded it back to bare wood with our hardwood floor refinishing and repair team. Layered lighting (recessed, pendant and under-cabinet), radiant heated floors and professional interior painting complete the space.
A small kitchen can be the most rewarding space to remodel, because smart design changes everything: a tight work triangle, vertical storage, pull-outs, light colors and layered lighting make a compact room feel twice its size. The best way to judge a contractor is by the kitchens they’ve already built. Here are a few recent projects from our crews.
The problem: A White Plains family’s kitchen had become cramped and inefficient, with a layout that made cooking and entertaining harder than it needed to be.
What we did: We repositioned the key appliances to create a true work triangle, lowered the microwave for easier reach, installed new durable flooring, and added energy-efficient windows to pour in natural light and improve year-round comfort. The finish palette pairs white cabinetry with black countertops, dark walls, crisp white window trim and a geometric accent backsplash.
The result: A bright, welcoming kitchen built around how the family actually cooks and gathers. See the full White Plains project spotlight →
The problem: A pre-war Colonial in the Highlands neighborhood of White Plains needed a full kitchen remodel. Decades of linoleum, adhesive and an old subfloor patch covered the floor.
What we found: During demolition to the studs, our crew uncovered the original wide-plank, quarter-sawn white oak—material that’s expensive to reproduce today. “You never know what a house is hiding until you open it up,” says Pedro Ormeno.
What we did: Rather than cover it or replace it, we sanded the oak back to bare wood to bring out its grain and character before the new cabinets, counters and finish carpentry go in. It’s a good example of why it pays to hire a team that does both careful demolition and floor restoration in-house. Follow the Highlands Colonial kitchen project →
The problem: A Yonkers apartment owner wanted to refresh a small, tired kitchen on a modest budget—and really wanted hardwood floors.
What we did: We replaced cabinets that were too damaged to save, installed new hardwood flooring, painted the room a clean neutral to make it feel larger, and chose a durable, cost-effective gray countertop instead of stone.
The result: A brighter, more spacious-feeling kitchen for about $11,500, built with materials meant to last instead of cheap fixes that need redoing. Read how we kept the Yonkers remodel on budget → Planning something similar? Visit our Yonkers kitchen remodeling page.

Cabinets, which can make up about 29% of the total project cost. Labor, appliances and countertops follow. Because our cabinets are built by our in-house carpenters, we can often deliver custom cabinetry for less than a contractor who subcontracts it.
